We’re being blackmailed, every single one of us. Satan, instigator and deceiver, sets us up to fall, then stands by with virtual camera in hand to capture images. He whispers, shouts, and screams our failures.
We know we should take every thought captive, but the problem comes when we believe Satan’s lie that we deserve to endlessly suffer.
I’ve written on taking thoughts captive, demolishing strongholds, and healing memories. I want to go deeper. What about the things we’ve done—the areas we willingly strayed off God’s pathway and engaged in an activity we knew was wrong?
We didn’t just step our toes in the mud of sin, we went head first, and wallowed in the pig-sty of sin.
I’ve been there, done that. Not satisfied with God’s best, I’ve traveled down the wrong roads. I ignored warning signs and headed over the cliff. Sin collisions always results in wreckage, and out of the debris crawls regret, guilt, and condemnation. And Satan is right there to rub our noses in the mess and blackmail us into ineffectiveness in Christ’s Kingdom.
Christ came to set the captives free. Jesus Christ is not a part-time Savior. He is a full-time Savior.
I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. God has freed us from the power of darkness, and he brought us into the kingdom of his dear Son. The Son paid for our sins, and in him we have forgiveness. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Christ has set us free to live a free life. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory!*
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your mercy and grace. Help us to walk in the freedom that comes through Your forgiveness. You have set us free to be free. Thank You, Jesus! Thank You Heavenly Father! We rejoice and give You all glory and praise! We are FREE!!!
