Everything means everything!

I don’t know about you, but I am guilty of not going to God with everything.
What I mean by that is this: I don’t neglect praying for others, including my family. If I am in pain or ill, I will then go to Him in prayer for my own needs. But if I think it is something that I “should be able to handle on my own”, I will do just that–try to take care of it myself and not “bother” Him with it.
But that isn’t really what His Word says, is it? He wants us to come to Him in ALL things! He didn’t give a qualifier, saying to come to Him if a problem is only so big! No, thankfully, He didn’t!
This has hit home with me in several situations lately. It has only been after wrestling with an issue myself, for entirely too long that I finally cried out to the Lord,”I can’t do this by myself!” It then occurs to me, after His peace begins to cover me, that I don’t HAVE to handle it on my own. All I need to do is be humble enough to ask Him for His help and He’ll gladly give it.
It seems so simple and so obvious, yet I forget it over and over! How much grief would I spare myself if I would simply call on Him first, instead of doing it my way and asking him last?
Are you struggling with this?
Do you try to take care of things on your own instead of trusting God and His ability and desire to be there for us in ALL things?
Take time right now to stop and ask Him for His help! That is all it takes for Him to lift this burden from your shoulders!
