Friends and family feel threatened by my new faith – Audio

Friends and family feel threatened by my new faith – How do I reassure them I care just as much for them?

When someone comes to Christ, a desire is created within to do all things to honor (recognize that God is God and we are not; also show our gratitude for His goodness, generosity and grace) God, to offer oneself as an instrument to God’s greatness, generosity, and goodness and to worship God.

Now the degree with which we do this and what that looks like will be different in each individual. Some may come right out of the doors totally committed and on fire for Christ, while for others, the changes and results of those changes may occur at a completely different and gradual pace over time.

Yet, there will be some change and, as a result, others are bound to notice and may react with things like: “You’re one of those religious nuts now, huh!” “That may be fine for you, but don’t bring it around me because I do not need it!” “Too good for us now, huh!” “What’s wrong with you, we have always hung out like this!”

World Prayr has chosen to be different, starting with teaching others that the pilgrimage all those who have been brought near to God are on is not one about our focusing on what we are doing, or focusing on our sin or anything we are not doing, but focusing on what Christ did in order for us to know transforming grace. We refer to this message as the gospel of grace. We then live this out as a ministry by serving others through counseling, prayer, and sound biblical teachings.

We also differ from most ministries in another key area, working to live out the message of Philippians 2:4 by aggressively promoting other ministries and churches. As a mission team, World Prayr is working to serve those who are disconnected to reconnect them, one soul at a time, to local bodies of believers.

We refer to our team as an “Ohana” made up of many nationalities spread across the globe and within the Protestant faith.
