God Sent An Angel

We take life for granted sometimes.  But, situations have a way of opening our eyes to how precious it (life) really is.

In May 2009, I had gall bladder surgery.  It was to be a simple, routine surgery; however, it turned into a battle.  In the weeks leading up to my surgery, I discovered that I was pre-diabetic.  On the morning of the operation, my sugar was high but the doctor decided to go ahead as planned.  He advised me that the increase in my sugar levels was fine because it would help balance me in the event that my sugar dropped during surgery.

The surgery went well.  Trouble came when nurses and doctors tried to wake me.  I don’t know how long I was out, but I’m told that they could not bring me out of anesthesia.  I could have died right there on that table…on that day..

I’m thankful to God for sending an angel.  When I finally began to respond, they took me back to my room.  I don’t remember much.  All I can say is a man came in resembling my Pastor.  When he spoke, I woke “all the way up”.  God sent that particular doctor to my room.  I know this to be true because God always sends a comforter.

So, when I rejoice and break into praise for no specific reason, I have much to shout about.  God saved me from the brink of death.  He kept me on this side for a reason.  God increased my faith on that day, letting me know that He is truly able.

Man couldn’t wake me but God sure could…and He did.

World Prayr has chosen to be different, starting with teaching others that the pilgrimage all those who have been brought near to God are on is not one about our focusing on what we are doing, or focusing on our sin or anything we are not doing, but focusing on what Christ did in order for us to know transforming grace. We refer to this message as the gospel of grace. We then live this out as a ministry by serving others through counseling, prayer, and sound biblical teachings.

We also differ from most ministries in another key area, working to live out the message of Philippians 2:4 by aggressively promoting other ministries and churches. As a mission team, World Prayr is working to serve those who are disconnected to reconnect them, one soul at a time, to local bodies of believers.

We refer to our team as an “Ohana” made up of many nationalities spread across the globe and within the Protestant faith.
