Psalm 121:7-8 The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. 8 The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
I can remember being a little girl and rushing outside to play with my group of friends after school. I always had to be in before it was dark and my homework had to be done first before going out to play.
Man, I would get so angry at my parents because I couldn’t understand why they wouldn’t let me stay out later or allow me to do my homework once I came back inside.
It seemed I had such little time to play outside during the week and even on the weekend I felt like there still wasn’t enough time to play. Little did I know that my parents were really only doing that for my protection.
You see God does the same thing with each of us at times. For example, we could be working at a job we really enjoy and then boom…the manager calls us into the office the following day and tells us he has to let us go. At these times we usually start questioning God, “why”?
Later on into the week something happens to make us realize that God did this for our protection and then we are thanking Him.
Another example could be, you have certain friends in your life and all of a sudden those same friends are gone before you blink. God again may have been protecting you, though you may not have realized or seen what He was protecting you from.
Just as when we were little kids and we didn’t know or understand what our parents were protecting us from, God is always watching out and protecting us and at the time don’t know why.
We shouldn’t question Him because ultimately everything He does is for our protection and benefit.
What a Mighty savior we serve!
I am so blessed to be able to call Him my best friend – my provider – my protector and most importantly my Savior
