Kick the enemy’s tail!

Kick the enemy’s tail!

By Lisa Buffaloe

The enemy has been messing with me, with so many of my friends, and probably with you. Let’s kick the enemy’s tail! Let’s take back the ground the enemy has gained.

The Israelites were given the Promised Land but they had to conquer their enemies. God helped the Israelites, but they had to take action.

We are given Christ’s freedom, but it’s up to us to live in His freedom. God fights for us, but there are times we are to join in the fight.

Through prayer we smart-bomb the enemy.

Through Bible study we are given God’s truth to stand firm on His truth.

Through praise we see God’s power released.

Through raising our Spiritual sword we can slash through the lies of the enemy.

You are never left defenseless against Satan! Fight back.

As Christians, we are given armor to stand against our enemy. Problem is, I wonder how often we leave our defenses locked in the closet? We have to do more than just be aware of the existence of the armor of God.

Paul cites several action words to make sure we are protected. Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. (Ephesians 6:10-18, 1 Peter 5:8).

Put on your spiritual armor; raise your shield and sword. Satan is a defeated foe, and you are a victorious conqueror in Christ. Our adversary is active and “prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” Don’t go out unprepared and for heavens sake, wear your armor!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” ~ Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
