This has been soooo helpful to me

by Dave McCarty

The so-what theology of the Christian life

has been amazingly helpful to me lately.  Huh?  Here’s how it works.  When I notice one of my idols distracting me from fixing my eyes and thoughts on Jesus, I say to myself, “So WHAT, Dave’sFlesh?”

So what if your car is cooler than their car?  Or theirs cooler than yours?  So what if you’re a better dresser than they are?  So what if that slow-moving truck just pulled onto the two-lane-with-no-passing-zone-for-the-next-six-miles road in front of you?  So what if the light just turned red, and it’s always a long wait at this intersection?

Can a woman forget her nursing child? Can she have no pity on the child she gave birth?  Though she may forget,I will not forget you. Isaiah 49:15

God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’”
Hebrews 13:5

persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed- 2 Corinthians 4:9

Let’s All Take a Knee

by Joseph Franks

The following has been completely plagiarized and slightly altered. However, I believe it is still very solid and worthy of your contemplation. The following “Word from the Lord” could change the way you honor the Lord’s Day, gather for worship, live throughout the week, vote in local elections, pray in your quiet place, love your neighbors, and love your country. America needs revival. You and I need revival. Please take a moment, read, meditate, pray, and respond appropriately. The Lord may not change our land, but perhaps today he will change you and me.

Sometimes, It Takes A Mountain or A Desert

 by Jody Neufeld

O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.
You know everything I do.

You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!                            Psalm 139:1-6 (NLT)

The Gods We Make

the gods we make

By David Desforge

Can you identify your idols? Would it make any difference?

Idolatry has become a more popular theme in churches. But I find even believers have trouble really owning it for themselves. While I work with the topic a lot, I too struggle to apply it consistently. However, it has a powerful impact when I do.

As we build friendships with scholars from all over the world who have interest in Christianity, it has provided a unique peek into the human heart.  This year we will have 10 or so in our home for Christmas Day lunch. Most of them have little to no knowledge of the Bible, Jesus or Christmas.

Christmas Erupts

By Patrick Badstibner

Luke 1:28-33
28 And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!”
29 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be.
30 And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.
32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David,
33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”Luke 1: 46- 50

World Prayr has chosen to be different, starting with teaching others that the pilgrimage all those who have been brought near to God are on is not one about our focusing on what we are doing, or focusing on our sin or anything we are not doing, but focusing on what Christ did in order for us to know transforming grace. We refer to this message as the gospel of grace. We then live this out as a ministry by serving others through counseling, prayer, and sound biblical teachings.

We also differ from most ministries in another key area, working to live out the message of Philippians 2:4 by aggressively promoting other ministries and churches. As a mission team, World Prayr is working to serve those who are disconnected to reconnect them, one soul at a time, to local bodies of believers.

We refer to our team as an “Ohana” made up of many nationalities spread across the globe and within the Protestant faith.
