Sunday Collectives 12/2/13 – 12/8/13

By Joshua Samuel

I can never escape from Your Spirit! I can never get away from Your presence! If I go up to heaven, You are there;if I go down to the place of the dead, You are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there Your hand will guide me, and Your strength will support me… Psalm 139:7-10!!!

Elijah had seen God move differently on an earlier mountaintop. At Mount Carmel, God had sent fire from heaven in the judgment of false prophets from the Baal religion (1 Kings 18). But most of the time, as has been my experience, the voice of God is soft and subtle.

Please do not miss His voice by assuming it must be loud and dramatic. Very often welcome to God with rather dramatic questions: “Is this the person I should marry?” Or, “Is that the life vocation you desire me to choose?”….

HE is the reason for the season

By Jessica Dixon

Well, it is once again time for the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season.
We hurry off to the stores, jump online to look for gifts to give family and friends.  All the while it seems we are forgetting the true meaning behind this beautiful holiday. We forget that the true gift has already been given and it isn’t under our trees, it is in our hearts.
Some look at this day as a good reason to have family gatherings and celebrations, and once it’s over, simply move on.  Others may see Christmas as just another holiday. Truly it isn’t.  It is Jesus’ birthday, our living,  loving Savior who came to earth to save us!

So while we are busy shopping and preparing for this wonderful day, let’s stop to say hello to someone we pass by.

“I am the way, the truth and the life…

By Freddie Winter

Here is something that amazes me every time. I posted a statement that Jesus made in the Gospel of John on my Twitter.  I quoted John 14:6 which is in case you may not know right off-hand is, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one shall come to the Father but by me.”

As soon as I posted it, it was not Christians that responded, but Atheist. They were all over me, calling me a liar and other things.

When I posted it, I didn’t even have atheism on my mind. I posted it as an encouragement and as biblical truth.

The Atheist came out of the wood works ready to attack.  I engaged with them for a little while and was amazed as always with their talking points.

ULTIMATE investment

by Janice Burdsall

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Titus 3:4-7  But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

What are we that God would make such an amazing investment in us?

What did we do to deserve His ultimate investment in saving us? The answer is NOTHING!

Praise you in this Storm

 Luke 23:46 (NIV)

Jesus called out with a loud voice,

“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”

When he had said this, he breathed his last.

 This video features a beautiful

Casting Crowns song with images. Enjoy!

The Greatest Grace

By Jody Neufeld

An argument started among the disciples as to which of them would be the greatest.47 Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him. 48 Then he said to them,“Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”     Luke 9:46-47 (NIV)

[Jesus said,]“The Son of Man will die in the way that has been decided for him, but it will be terrible for the one who betrays him!”
23 Then the apostles started arguing about who would ever do such a thing…

World Prayr has chosen to be different, starting with teaching others that the pilgrimage all those who have been brought near to God are on is not one about our focusing on what we are doing, or focusing on our sin or anything we are not doing, but focusing on what Christ did in order for us to know transforming grace. We refer to this message as the gospel of grace. We then live this out as a ministry by serving others through counseling, prayer, and sound biblical teachings.

We also differ from most ministries in another key area, working to live out the message of Philippians 2:4 by aggressively promoting other ministries and churches. As a mission team, World Prayr is working to serve those who are disconnected to reconnect them, one soul at a time, to local bodies of believers.

We refer to our team as an “Ohana” made up of many nationalities spread across the globe and within the Protestant faith.
