Sunday Collectives 3/31/14 – 4/06/14
I’ve been more focused the last few years as an aging man (aren’t we all?) around the concept of legacy and leaving something of more value behind than when I arrived in my “all together” (as my grandma would say). And, as a father, this is exacerbated. This feeling that I want to leave something to my children that is of infinitely more value than a monetary inheritance has nipped at my heart quite often.

I am a third generation bargain hunter specializing in yard sales, flea markets, and thrift shops. Few things thrill me like finding a truly great deal, and I enjoy the thrill of the hunt! In the absence of the ability to actually seek the deal for myself, I will at times even resort to watching shows about other people finding deals on television.

Which would you rather do, spend eternity in “Hell” or Heaven?
John Piper is famous for saying, “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.”Christian hedonism, it’s called. The more we delight and enjoy in God, the more God is glorified and we are joyful.
For most of us, this seems easier said than done.
A lot of us Christians hold to the idea that we should not be purposefully seeking joy in our life. That, in all ways, the Christian life is supposed a hard one, and to deny that is to deny the faith…
