The war rages on, the papers, blogs, e-newsletters, read. The newscasts were filled with the daily happenings of the most cur-rent state of affairs, and in today’s world that is bound to include one or two wars somewhere. Yet, there is a war that rages on and I guarantee that you will not hear about in most papers, blogs, e-newsletters or newscasts; unless it is specifically devoted to this topic.

We’re busy people. Straining our backs to pull the pick through the air in an effort to break another stone. Another stone, another paycheck. Another car payment. Another visit to the orthodontist for Jenni. Another trunk-load of groceries from Publix. Always another. Yet, we’re expect to be informed. At most, we have time to skim the paper with our coffee, or watch the evening news while our children pretend to be something very loud that runs much. With exceptions, this is life.
There is so much confusion in our Christian life, what it means to live it, what does it look like. If one studies it one will hear terms like Justification, Sanctification, Union With Christ, Eternal Security, God’s Will, Love, Grace, Law, Mercy and other terms. While in a blog of our size it is impossible, nor is it our intent to go free diving to depths unknown in these areas, it is our intent to introduce terms, statements, reflections and thoughts on what we see as theological truth.
We’ve had horses since we moved into our house December 1991. We started with Ace and Joker (an Arabian and an Appaloosa), and then we bought Lady and Tigger (two wonderful ponies). Over time we gathered an assortment of strays who were put out to pasture in our back yard: King, Belle, Dakota, Shaq and others.
Misty was a gift to our daughter on her twelfth birthday. And now she was dead.

I posted earlier about being afraid with my worsening eyesight. The eyesight issues are a long troublesome list, it’s getting harder to see fine print, the world is getting grayer by the day. And man, it’s hard not to have moments of worry regarding those facts. However, I refuse to allow that to ruin my life. I refuse to stop God’s joy from flowing.
