The Pain of losing a child

The Pain of losing a child

By Jessica Dixon

I am not sure why I am writing this but I do know God has laid it on my heart that someone needs to hear this. We have all lost a loved one. However we haven’t all lost a child it could be a child from any age there are no words to describe how much pain you feel. I have kept my pain and my tears inside for a while and only shared it with my husband and God.

However, I feel my story can help someone.

I lost a precious little boy. I still remember that day like it was yesterday.

I will be outside or even watching my sister with my nephew and sometimes your heart sinks a little bit.

The holidays are the hardest part, Mother’s day and Father’s day or even Christmas.

I lost my son and a few years later I lost my Best Friend both were so painful. I was able to share my pain with her and she understood because she had been in the same shoes once before so we would relate.

As I sit here, I am finding it hard to put the words together because tears are drawing to my eyes. However there is a peace that surpasses all understanding and that peace comes from God.

We must know that God is taking care of our babies and we must know that we will see them again.

Let’s pray for others who are hurting like we are and show compassion and understanding for each of these moms and dads. Pray for understanding and compassion and peace for all of you whom are suffering through this.

I hope you know that God does have a bigger plan and that your child is with you every single day. Know that God is taking care of your child. Please don’t give up. God will give you the strength you need to carry on. He will never leave you nor forsake you and He holds every single tear you have cried in His hands.
